Frosted Cut Out Sugar Cookies - A Vintage Recipe

My Aunt Phyllis has been making these cookies for years. She makes them at Christmas time and they're everybody's favorite. I decorated these for fall, but I'll be making them again soon for Christmas. The recipe is really easy too. Trust me, you'll want to pin it, print it, save it, or something. These cookies are that good.

Lately, I've been baking chocolate chip cookies. LOTS of chocolate chip cookies. I tried recipes that were labeled "the best" and blended them together, tweaked them in my own little kitchen science experiments and below is the recipe for, by far, THE BEST chocolate chip cookie I've ever made. And like I said, I made A LOT.
